Ser Wendel Manderly is the second son of Lord Wyman Manderly and an anointed knight of House Manderly. He is killed at the Red Wedding.

Wendel is a large man, though not so much as his father or his brother, Ser Wylis Manderly. He has a round face with a moustache, although he is bald on top. He is loud and boisterous but values his honor highly. He is proficient with a bow.

A Game of Thrones[]
Wendel and Wylis are sent by their father to represent him when Robb Stark calls his banners. They ride from White Harbor with Catelyn Stark and escort her to Robb, who has gathered at Moat Cailin. When the army splits Wendel rides with Robb, and fights in his personal guard at the Battle of the Whispering Wood and the Battle of the Camps.
A Clash of Kings[]
Wendel is sent to guard Catelyn when she travels south to treat with Renly Baratheon and Stannis Baratheon. He returns to Riverrun after the fall of Storm's End.
A Storm of Swords[]
Wendel offers to marry a girl of House Frey as part of a deal to make amends between House Stark and Lord Walder Frey. He is given command of the baggage train on the ride to the Twins for the marriage of Lord Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey. He is killed at the Red Wedding when he gets shot through the mouth by an arrow.
A Dance with Dragons[]
Wendel's bones are returned to White Harbor by Symond Frey, Jared Frey and Rhaegar Frey. Davos Seaworth scoffs when the Freys tell the court that Wendel died protecting Walder from a rabid Robb Stark.
