After Helman Tallhart leaves to join Robb Stark's war campaign, he leaves his younger brother, Leobald, in command of Torrhen's Square, serving as castellan.
During his raids on the Stony Shore, Theon Greyjoy allows for some villagers to survive and bring word to Torrhen's Square. Leobald dispatches his nephew, Benfred, to deal with the Ironborn, but Benfred's group is easily defeated by the raiders.
After Torrhen's Square is besieged by the force of Dagmer Cleftjaw, Ser Rodrik Cassel takes the better part of the Winterfell garrison to break the siege. He succeeds in breaking Dagmer's shield wall, and sending the Ironborn back to the Stony Shore.

Ser Helman is killed whilst marching on Duskendale. He is succeeded by his daughter, Eddara.
Dagmer returns to take the castle, as Leobald was slain in the Battle at Winterfell, along with most of the Hornwood forces.
