Summerhall was a castle used as a summer residence, mostly during the reign of Daeron II Targaryen. It sits where Dorne, the Reach, and the Stormlands join. After Daeron II, Summerhall was passed to his son, Maekar I Targaryen.
Summerhall was destroyed by a great fire in 259 AL, which resulted in the death of Aegon V, Prince Duncan and Lord Commander Ser Duncan the Tall. Aerys II believed that this fire contributed somehow to the birth of his son, Rhaegar, who grew up to be fascinated with it.
