Stoney Sept is a large town in The Riverlands famous for its large sept.
Location[]
Stoney Sept is in the southern most part of the Riverlands, to the south of Pinkmaiden Castle and west of the Gods Eye. It is near the border with The Westerlands and is to the north of the Gold Road.
History[]
Stoney Sept was the site of a major battle during Robert's Rebellion. Lord Robert Baratheon was hiding in the town when the armies of House Targaryen converged on it, under the command of Lord Jon Connington. jon tried to find Robert but the armies of Lords Eddard Stark, Jon Arryn and Hoster Tully arrived just in time to save Robert, who dueled Jon and killed Ser Myles Mooton, and smash the Targaryen army in a decisive victory.

the Brotherhood without Banners visits Stoney Sept with Arya Stark and Gendry. Arya sees Northmen in the cages reserved for prisoners. They had been caught by the Mad Huntsman, a brotherhood sympathizer. Gendry declines the advances of a prostitute called Bella, who might have been his half sister as she claimed to be a bastard of King Robert Baratheon. It is at Stoney Sept that the Brotherhood take Sandor Clegane prisoner.
