Ser Robert Strong is a mysterious knight of the Kingsguard, who is abnormally large and tall. Ser Robert never shows his face, hidden under his greathelm, and never speaks. The reason for his silence is, according to Qyburn, that he has made a vow of silence that will last until all of King Tommen's enemies are dead.

His alleged surname indicates descent from House Strong.

Appearance and Character[]

Ser Robert is around eight feet tall. He is inhumanly strong, with his massive weight being composed almost merely of muscles. He never shows his face, hiding it behind his greathelm, and he never speaks due to his supposed vow of silence. His armor is themed after the Faith of the Seven, with rainbow-colored feathers on his helmet and seven-pointed stars clasping his white cloak of the Kingsguard.

A Dance with Dragons[]

Prior to Queen Cersei Lannister's walk of atonement, she tells Qyburn to appoint a new member of the Kingsguard, who would fight as her champion in her trial by combat. When Cersei reaches the Red Keep, Qyburn introduces Ser Robert Strong as the newest member of the Kingsguard, and her champion in the coming trial by combat.

Ser Meryn Trant notes that he never saw Ser Robert eat or drink, and Ser Boros Blount claimed that he never used the privy. Kevan Lannister, Mace Tyrell, and Randyll Tarly are quick to speculate on Ser Robert's identity. However, Kevan says that his identity, as of now, is a petty issue, and that all that matters is that he emerges victorious in Cersei's trial by combat.
