After the original Seven Kingdoms were dismantled by Aegon The Conqueror, serving as the basis for his new great kingdom, Aegon started a construction of a royal castle in the place he first set foot in the Conquest, a land near the Blackwater Bay. For the royal castle was designed to be a really huge one, even after 37 years of reign he was not ready yet, nevertheless it was almost done. During the reign of Maegor I Targaryen, the construction was completed. Maegor executed everyone who worked on the construction of the castle, to keep on its secret passages.
Recent Events[edit | edit source]
It is the setting for many important events in the series, including the death of Robert Baratheon, the marriage and subsequent death of Joffrey Baratheon, also Rickard and Brandon Stark died in the throne room and the death of the Mad King during the sack of King's Landing. It was also made by Maegor the Cruel in 42 AL.
