Ser Raynald Westerling is an anointed knight of House Westerling and the eldest son and heir of Lord Gawen Westerling.

Raynald is young and lean, with brown hair and a bushy mustache. He is considered to be cheerful.

A Storm of Swords[]
Raynald is part of the retinue of Robb Stark when he returns to Riverrun from his campaign in the Westerlands, after Robb married Raynald's sister, Jeyne. Robb enjoys spending time with Raynald. Catelyn Stark believes that Raynald fills the whole left by the absence of Theon Greyjoy and Jon Snow.
When Robb sets out to the Twins for the marriage of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey, Raynald is the only Westerling to accompany him, serving as the royal banner-bearer. Robb puts Raynald in charge of putting Grey Wind in a kennel, after their arrival at the Twins.
A Feast for Crows[]
When Ser Jaime Lannister asks him about Raynald, Ser Edwyn Frey says that he surrendered his sword to Ser Whalen Frey, but then attempted to free Grey Wind, when the Freys went to kill the direwolf. He was hit by numerous crossbow bolts, and fell into the Trident. His body wasn't identified after the massacre.
