The Queensguard is an alternate version of the Kingsguard instead serving a Queen, over a King. Made up of seven of the finest knights, they are sworn to protect their queen with their lives, and to obey her orders.
Organization[]
The Queensguard is historically composed of seven knights sworn to a lifetime of service. Members serve unto death, regardless of age or physical impairments. Members are not allowed to hold lands, sire children, marry, or have any worldly allegiance besides to their queen. All members of the Queensguard are traditionally sworn knights.
History[]
Queen Alysanne Targaryen names Jonquil Darke as her personal bodyguard after an assassination attempt, however, the first iteration of the Queensguard proper came during the Dance of the Dragons, when Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen established the order to protect her life during the war.
