Lord Ormund Baratheon was head of House Baratheon and Lord of Storm's End during the reign of Kings Aegon V and Jaehaerys II Targaryen. He also served as Hand of the King to Jaehaerys. He was married to Rhaelle Targaryen, and had one son with her, called Steffon.
Ormund was the son and heir of Lord Lyonel Baratheon, who rose in rebellion against Aegon V. When the conflict was settled, it was arranged that Aegon's youngest daughter, Rhaelle, would be betrothed to Ormund, and sent to live in Storm's End. They were married in 245 AC, and had their son, Steffon, a year later.
Following the Tragedy of Summerhall, Ormund became Hand of the King to the new monarch, Jaehaerys II, who was also his brother-in-law. When the War of the Ninepenny Kings broke out, it was Ormund who was given command of the Targaryen armies. He was amongst the first casualties of the fighting, being killed by Maelys Blackfyre, and dying in the arms of his son, who inherited Storm's End. Ser Gerold Hightower took over command of the royal forces, whilst Edgar Sloane became the new Hand of the King.
