Nymeria is amongst the litter discovered when Robb Stark and Jon Snow discover the dead direwolf mother on the road to Winterfell. She is given to Arya Stark. Nymeria is not allowed to attend Septa Mordane's needlework classes, so waits for Arya to finish outside. She also helps Arya pack her case in preparation for the journey to King's Landing, picking up anything that Arya points to on command. When Jon delivers Arya Needle, Nymeria waits by the door as guard.
