Queen Margaery Tyrell is the only daughter of Mace Tyrell and Alerie Hightower and the younger sister to Willas Tyrell, Ser Garlan Tyrell, and older sister to Ser Loras Tyrell. She marries King Renly Baratheon, King Joffrey I Baratheon and, King Tommen I Baratheon.

Appearance and Personality

Margaery Tyrell is regarded as extremely beautiful, with thick and curling brown hair, large brown eyes and a slender but womanly figure. She is fair and lively, with a shy and sweet smile. There are certain similarities between Margaery and her brother Loras Tyrell. She is regarded as beautiful or pretty by most people, including Tyrion Lannister, Renly Baratheon and Sansa Stark. Renly believes that she looks somewhat like Lyanna, Sansa's aunt, and Cersei believes that she and her brother are more alike than her and Jaime. She often dresses in green and gold, the colours of her house.

Margaery is highly intelligent, courteous and polite to a fault, with an almost effortless savvy for political manoeuvring and exploitation. Starkly unlike her nemesis Cersei, she does not need to resort to sex or terror to get what she wants and seems genuinely capable of being kind and compassionate to other people; Cersei almost instinctively resorts to using fear or her family's power to get ahead. The people of the Reach and King's Landing adore her.

Books

A Clash of Kings

Margaery marries Renly to bring the Tyrell forces on his side during the War of the Five Kings. After Renly is murdered by Stannis Baratheon Margaery becomes a widow, but is promised to Joffrey by Petyr Baelish.

A Storm of Swords

Margaery arrives in King's Landing. At her wedding to Joffrey her betrothed chokes to death on the poison known as the Strangler. Tyrion Lannister is accused of the murder, when in actual fact the culprits were Petyr and Olenna.

A Feast for Crows

Margaery attends the wake of Lord Tywin Lannister along with the rest of her family. Her and her cousins talk and laugh with Tommen afterwards. Her grandmother promises Cersei Lannister that they will talk about a date for the wedding. She later attends the prayers that take place in the Great Sept of Baelor whilst Tywin's corpse rots.
