Lord Paramount is a hereditary title held by some of the liege lords of the Seven Kingdoms, to distinguish them as rulers of their respective regions. The title was instated by Aegon the Conqueror and was granted to houses that had not previously ruled as kings.
History[]
When Aegon conquered the Stormlands during his conquest of Westeros, he named his bastard half-brother and Hand, Orys Baratheon, the "Lord Paramount of the Stormlands", along with lordship over Storm's End. He did the same in the Riverlands and the Reach for Edmyn Tully and Harlen Tyrell respectively.

- Edmyn Tully of the Riverlands, Lord Paramount of the Trident. Replaced King Harren Hoare.
