Lord Humfrey Bracken was the head of House Bracken and the Lord of Stone Hedge during the reigns of Kings Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen.
History[]
Humfrey hosted Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen when she visited the Riverlands on a royal tour in 112 AC.
House Bracken declared for the greens when the Dance of the Dragons began, whilst their rivals, House Blackwood, supported the blacks. Humfrey's son, Ser Amos Bracken, and Lord Samwell Blackwood both died during the Battle of the Burning Mill, and Humfrey's bastard son, Ser Raylon Rivers, had to lead the Bracken survivors in a retreat to Stone Hedge. However, in the meantime, Prince Daemon Targaryen had stormed and taken Stone Hedge, capturing Lord Humfrey, his third wife, his remaining children, and his lowborn paramour. Raylon surrendered to Daemon, in an attempt to save his kin.
When King Aegon II began punishing lords, after the death of his rival, Queen Rhaenyra, Humfrey joined with the host of blacks being led by Lord Elmo Tully.
