. House Spicer is a noble house from the Westerlands. Their sigil is three black pepperpots on a saffron bend, across a field of green and silver stripes. Their seat is Castamere, the former seat of House Reyne.
History[]
House Spicer is a new house founded by a petty lord, who had been a wealthy merchant elevated by Lord Tytos Lannister. The founder's father was a trader of saffron and pepper, who wed a maegi from Essos. The witch woman was known as Maggy the Frog to the people of Lannisport.
House Spicer's wealth led the founder's daughter, Sybell Spicer, to marry Lord Gawen Westerling, head of the ancient but impoverished House Westerling.

A Storm of Swords[]
After Ser Jaime Lannister escapes from Riverrun, Ser Samwell Spicer is among the men sent out by Lord Tywin Lannister to discretly search for his son.
Ser Rolph Spicer serves as castellan of the Crag, where his sister, Sybell, is the lady of the castle. Lord Gawen Westerling is held captive at Seagard, and it was the role of Rolph Spicer to surrender the Crag to Robb Stark after the Storming of the Crag. Rolph and Sybell maneuver Jeyne Westerling into treating Robb, and, after sleeping with her, Robb decides to marry her, thus breaking the marriage pact that his mother, Catelyn Stark, made with Lord Walder Frey.
Rolph travels with Sybell and her children to Riverrun when Robb Stark returns to the Riverlands. Catelyn is distrustful of Robb Stark, as Grey Wind behaves aggressively towards him. Robb sends Rolph to deliver Martyn Lannister to the Golden Tooth.
Robb is betrayed by House Frey at the Red Wedding, and gets murdered by Roose Bolton. Ser Kevan Lannister then has King Tommen I Baratheon sign a decree raising Rolph to lordship, and giving him the lands and title of Castamere.
A Feast for Crows[]
After the Second Siege of Riverrun, Sybell is upset when Jaime informs her that Tywin intended for her son, Ser Raynald Westerling, to marry a bastard, Joy Hill. Sybell reveals that, per an arrangement she made with Tywin, she would prevent Jeyne from becoming pregnant with Robb's child.
