House Glover is a noble house from the North, and a principle vassal of House Stark. Their ancestral seat is Deepwood Motte. Their sigil is a silver mailed fist on a scarlet field. The head of the house at the start of the novels is Lord Galbart Glover.
History[]
The Glovers were First Men kings after the Long Night, but they were reduced to vassals of the Kings of Winter of House Stark.
Benton Glover served as First Ranger when Queen Alysanne Targaryen visited The Wall in 58 AC.
The Glovers aided Lord Cregan Stark in hunting down the wildling raiders of Sylas the Grim in 133 AC.
The first wife of Ser Jorah Mormont, chosen by his father, Jeor, was a Glover of Deepwood Motte. They were married for ten years, after which she died, during her third stillbirth.
Ethan Glover served as Brandon Stark's squire, and went with him to King's Landing to demand the return of his sister, Lyanna Stark, after her abduction by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Ethan was the only one of Brandon's companions to survive. He later fought at the Tower of Joy, where he was killed.

Upon learning that the Lannisters may have been involved in an assassination attempt against their son, Bran, Lord Eddard Stark gives his wife, Catelyn, the instruction to command Lord Galbart Glover and Master Helman Tallhart to gather one hundred archers each, and garrison them at Moat Cailin, to prepare for the possibility of war between the Lannisters and the Starks. This order never gets sent.
