After Roose Bolton takes Harrenhal, Harrion is released with the rest of the Northern prisoners. Roose sends him, Robett Glover and Ser Helman Tallhart to take Duskendale. His whereabouts after the battle at Duskendale are unknown. Harrion inherits the lordship of Karhold after his father is executed by Robb Stark, for the murders of Willem Lannister and Tion Frey.

A Feast for Crows[]

Harrion is held captive at Maidenpool.

A Dance with Dragons[]

Arnolf Karstark declares for Stannis Baratheon, in the hope that this will cause the Iron Throne to execute Harrion, making his sister, Alys, the Lady of Karhold. Arnolf plans to wed his son, Cregan, to Alys and then lay claim to Karhold. The plan is also part of a plot orchestrated by Roose Bolton, with Arnolf set to turn against Stannis when he reached Winterfell.

Arnolf's plan for Karhold is ruined, when Jon Snow arranges a marriage between Alys and Sigorn, the Magnar of Thenn, and sends a raven to Stannis, informing him of Arnolf's treachery. Should Harrion now die, then lordship would now pass to the newly-styled House Thenn.
