Ser Gendry, also known as Ser Gendry of the Hollow Hill and Gendry the Bull, is a knight from King's Landing, and an unrecognized bastard of Robert Baratheon.
History[]
Gendry was born to King Robert I and an unnamed worker at an alehouse. He grew up in a blacksmith's forge and became an apprentice blacksmith working for Tobho Mott, with no desire to do anything but.
Recent Events[]
A Game of Thrones[]
Gendry was visited by Jon Arryn and Eddard Stark as each man began to piece together the truth of Cersei Lannister's incestuous relationship with her twin brother Jaime.
A Clash of Kings[]
Gendry goes on the Kingsroad with Yoren to the Wall to escape Cersei, who is attempting to kill all of Robert's bastards so that no one will notice the differences between Robert's children and her three offspring, all of whom were born of her incest.
Gendry befriends Arya Stark on the way to the Wall, and the two of them get imprisoned at Harrenhal by Ser Gregor Clegane's men along with the rest of the Night's Watch recruits. They eventually escape, along with another friend called Hot Pie, and make their way across the continent. Gendry and Arya are taken by the Brotherhood Without Banners, and there Gendry stays to be a blacksmith.
A Feast for Crows[]
Gendry is living at the Inn at the Crossroads with several other children, still in the employ of the Brotherhood and a believer in the Lord of Light.
