During the rule of kings Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen, Borros Baratheon served as the Lord of Storm's End and the leader of House Baratheon. He and his wife, Lady Elenda Caron, had four daughters named Cassandra, Maris, Ellyn, and Floris, as well as a son named Royce.
Appearance and Character[]
Borros sported facial hair. As a Baratheon, he was likely tall and powerfully built, had black hair and blue eyes, and possessed a strong, square jawline. He was also an experienced fighter. Borros was more volatile than his reserved father, Lord Boremund, and was even more confrontational. He was not one to speak much, so his maester would read his messages on his behalf.
History[]
Borros was known for clashing with Dornishmen and was married to Elenda Caron, daughter of Lord Royce Caron of Nightsong. During the Dance of the Dragons, both green and black factions sought his support. Borros initially appeared to favor Queen Rhaenyra, but ultimately sided with King Aegon II. He offered one of his daughters to Prince Aemond Targaryen but disagreed with Rhaenyra's approach to House Baratheon. When Prince Lucerys Velaryon arrived seeking support for the blacks, Borros demanded he pick a daughter to marry, which Lucerys declined due to a betrothal. Aemond and Lucerys clashed under Borros's roof, resulting in death.
After officially aligning with the greens, Borros led troops to face the Vulture King rather than Rhaenyra. Following Rhaenyra's death, Borros seized King's Landing, marrying his daughter to Aegon II. He also arranged another daughter's marriage to Lord Larys Strong and subjugated the crownlands, prompting backlash due to heavy ransoms.
During the Battle of the Kingsroad, Borros incurred heavy losses and was mortally wounded, despite initially leading a charge. He fought fiercely but was ultimately defeated by Lord Kermit Tully. His wife gave birth to a son named Royce instead of fulfilling Borros's wish to name him Aegon. Borros's legacy was tarnished by defeat in the battle, marking the end of his leadership in the war for the Iron Throne.
