The Battle of Oxcross was a battle and a victory for Robb Stark during the War of the Five Kings, taking place in 299 AC. Stafford Lannister died in the battle.

Prelude[]

King Robb Stark is fighting the Lannisters after the death of his father Eddard Stark. He sends Theon Greyjoy to negotiate with his father Balon for support from the Iron Islands, and sends his mother Catelyn to Renly Baratheon for support from the Stormlands. He hopes that Tywin Lannister will leave Harrenhal.

Battle[]

Robb invades the Westerlands and attacks Oxcross, where Stafford Lannister is training inexperienced recruits near the village. Robb attacks in the night, and sets his direwolf Grey Wind loose, causing the horses to flee.

During the battle, Rupert Brax is slain, and Rickard Karstark kills Stafford Lannister while he is running after his horse.

After the battle, Roland Crakehall, Antario Jast, Lymond Vikary, and Martyn Lannister are taken prisoner.

Aftermath[]

Robb continues his invasion of the Westerlands. According to rumours, Robb cut out the heart of Stafford, and fed it to Grey Wind.
